Yoga is a form of exercise that was developed in India and involves assuming and holding postures that stretch the limbs and muscles, doing breathing exercises, and using meditation techniques to calm the mind.


Dariece Warren, owner/practitioner of Vallejo Yoga, explains that “People think that they have to be very flexible or really strong to practice yoga, but yoga is for everyone, and yoga is about community…by bringing what we learn in class out into our neighborhoods, we become better citizens.

Vallejo Yoga offers a weekly Community Yoga Class (donation-based) that is open to anyone at any level. “These classes are a great way to introduce yoga to the general population – a wonderful way to explore the many facets of this gentle, healing modality.” Yoga is not just about getting fit physically. It goes much deeper than that, and students often leave class elated and feeling relaxed, happier, and kinder, to themselves and others. “Beginners are always welcome.” Dariece says. “Just show up and see for yourself!

Introduction to Meditation is another popular four-week series that welcomes students of all levels. You’ll learn about meditation and the many benefits it offers while exploring a variety of different methods. You’ll get your questions about meditation answered in this fun, informative class.
