Unique Handcrafted Furniture from Hatzi Designs

\"hatzi-island\"Furniture is an investment. You will probably own and use it for years, and you want it to withstand everyday wear and tear. Ready-made or store-bought furniture may not meet your needs for sturdiness, organization, or durability. Custom-made furniture can meet your functional needs exactly because it is designed specifically for you and the space you have available. Pieces are sized to the specifications of the area perfectly, with no unsightly gaps. Your finished piece will flow with the rest of your decor, adding beauty and magic to your home.

Michael Hatzigeorgiou, master craftsman and owner of Hatzi Designs in Benicia’s Industrial Park, hails from Greece, where he began his career as a furniture designer and builder at the age of 14. He studied furniture design at the Piraeus Vocational Trade School while working as an apprentice furniture maker. He designed and installed kitchen cabinets, worked on interior design projects and decoration for retail stores, and built custom-made furniture.

\"hatzi-kitchen\"Michael moved to the United States in 1985, where he continued working in the furniture manufacturing industry. He worked for 13 years as a shop foreman overseeing a full crew as he helped design and construct modern contemporary furniture. In 2006, when his job was out-sourced to China, Michael decided to open his own business, and is proud of the fact that all of his furniture is made locally.

Mi\"hatzichael designs furniture all over the Bay Area, including San Francisco, Blackhawk, and Dublin, as well as the Benicia area. His showroom is open by appointment, and he is available for in-house appointments. He will go to your home where you will discuss your visions with him, come up with design ideas together, measure the available space, and draw up plans. Communication is key, to ensure that you get exactly what you envision.

No challenge is too great.
