“Good food selection, great prices, helpful staff.” – LH, Vallejo
Vallejo Grocery Outlet is a locally owned and operated neighborhood supermarket on Admiral Callaghan Lane in Vallejo that offers discount, overstock, and closeout items from name-brand and private label suppliers.
Owner Amy Yacullo explains that “we get all of our name-brand products directly from the manufacturers. We carry nearly everything you would find in a traditional grocery store, including fresh produce, dairy, meats, poultry, specialty cheeses, wine and beer, organics/-gluten-free, health and beauty aids, vitamins, canned goods, and seasonal products, as well as clothing and household items. Breads and produce are delivered every day, and eggs come in three times a week.”

The deals on wines are “ridiculous.” Occasionally, you can find highly rated wines for mere pennies on the dollar.
The major difference between Vallejo Grocery Outlet and regular grocery stores is that products rotate. What you buy today may be sold out tomorrow and replaced with other items. Amy advises that “when you see something you’d like, buy it.”
She also recommends that because you may not be able to purchase everything on your shopping list at Vallejo Grocery Outlet, stop by her store first. You may be surprised. You never know what you’ll find in addition to what you’re looking for…it’s like a grand adventure.
Amy and her husband have only owned the Vallejo Grocery Outlet for 2 1/2 years, but they have already entrenched themselves in their new community. After fully upgrading their new business, they became involved with the Grocery Outlet-sponsored Independence From Hunger campaign. They sell bags of food containing enough for a meal for $5, and all donations go directly to Faith Food Fridays, a local organization dedicated to helping the disadvantaged.
