From Garden to Table, Bringing Learning to Life in the Garden
Unleash your child’s imagination and potential at A Garden of Children. A Garden of Children provides a quality care program in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. Their garden-based curriculum connects science, math, health, nutrition, and play to classroom lessons. The children are engaged with hands-on instruction in the garden and experience the full process of planting, growing, harvesting and eating what they have created and grown.
Owner Denise Maher explains: “At A Garden of Children we believe in the value of the uniqueness of each child we serve. Our childcare experience is designed to promote each child’s own individual, social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. As caregivers and educators, our mission is to provide a safe and developmentally appropriate learning environment, which fosters a child’s natural desire to explore, discover, and create.”
The program at A Garden of Children is all-encompassing, including preschool, and before and after school programs, where older children do their homework and get help if they need it. Denise’s transportation service allows kids a way to and from after school activities. Extended full daycare is also available.
The building that housed A Garden of Children since 2000 burned down nearly two years ago, but that hasn’t stopped Denise from rebuilding a bigger and better facility. The new plans call for an increase in size from 1,000 square feet to 2500 square feet. The planned re-opening is set for February 6th.
If you’re looking for a safe haven for your child, a place where s/he will thrive, A Garden of Children is the place to be.
